The Tiger Reserves in India is one of the projects undertaken by the wildlife lovers to protect the Indian tigers. The Tiger Reserves in India from the 70’s have undertaken the job to protect the tigers and for this the Project Tiger and Wildlife Protection Act has been put into use.. To save this predator from the harmful poachers the Tiger Reserves in India have taken up measures. The Project Tiger was launched in the year 1972 for the conservation of tigers. There are 49 tiger reserves in India which are governed by Project Tiger which is administered by the National Tiger Conservation Authority. India is home to 70 percent of tigers in the world. In 2006, there were 1,411 tigers which increased to 1,706 in 2011 and 2,226 in 2014. According to latest statement by Environment Minister, the count had gone up to 2500 in 2016.
