Scholarship Examination in India

The CMAT 2019 will be held by newly introduced National Testing Agency (NTA) and will be taking over from AICTE from this year onwards. CMAT 2019 is a national level examination held for admissions into various b schools throughout India for post graduate management education. The examination consists of two shifts and aspirants can write the examination in any of those two shifts. It is a completely online based examination and will be held for 3 hours. More than 750 colleges throughout India accept the CMAT score. The complete details regarding the examination pattern has been provided in the table below:

Important Dates of CMAT 2019 examination

Candidates who are aspiring to write the examination must keep the following dates in mind. In case if the candidates miss out on any of the important dates, no extensions under any circumstances will be provided.It is in the best interest of the applicants to take the necessary actions whenever the respective dates becomes available. The important dates of the examination are:

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who wish to apply for the CMAT 2019 examination must keep the following eligibility criteria in mind. The admit card will be handed out only to those applicants who meet the required minimum norms. Check out the following eligibility criteria:

  • The applicant must have a minimum of graduate degree from any of the recognised institutions in India.
  • The degree obtained must be of at least three years in duration.
  • Candidates of general category must have secured a minimum of 50% overall score in their undergraduate degree. For candidates belonging in the SC, ST and PWD categories, the applicants must have secured a minimum of 45%.
  • The applicant must have an Indian citizenship.
  • There are no upper or lower age limit specified to be eligible to write the examination.
  • Students who are in their final year of their education are also eligible to write the examination

How to apply for CMAT 2019

Candidates who fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria can take the following steps in order to successfully apply for the examination. Candidates must take note that only completed application forms provided before the deadline date will be allowed to write the examination. They must also have a scanned copy of their photo as well as signature, as they would need it at the time of application. The application procedure for CMAT 2019 is:

  1. Go to the official website of CMAT 2019.
  2. Register for an account in the portal using a valid email address. The registration number and password will be sent to your email ID.
  3. Again go to the official portal of the examination and log in again using the registration number and password.
  4. Fill up all the details in the required fields. Candidates must be careful to provide complete and correct details as the details provided can’t be edited at a later date after registration.
  5. Choose the examination centers. Since there are only limited number of seats available at each center, the seats are allotted on a first come and first serve basis.
  6. Upload a scanned copy of the passport size photograph and signature.
  7. Proceed to pay the application fees through any of the online payment methods. The application fees is ₹1400 for all male candidates. For female candidates the application fees is ₹700. The fees can also be paid through offline mode by depositing cash in SBI. The application fee is non refundable.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Candidates must be aware of the exam pattern and syllabus in order to have an edge over their competition. It also helps them avoid any surprises at the last moment and prepare themselves accordingly. As mentioned in the table above, the CMAT 2019 examination consists of 4 sections and 100 questions. Admit cards will be released three weeks before the commencement of the examination. Admit cards will be provided only to those applicants who have provided complete details before the examination. To get the admit cards, the applicants must take the following procedure:

  1. Go to the official website of CMAT 2019
  2. Login to the account using the Registration number and password provided at the time of registration.
  3. Click on the admit card link shown at the portal screen. The link will appear only to the eligible candidates who have provided complete application details.
  4. After downloading the application card, take a printout of the same as it will be required at the time of examination.
  5. The application card will consist of roll number, photo, name & signature, time and date, venue and other instructions.
  6. The examination will be conducted in 100 test centers across India.

Answer key and Results

The answer key will be released after the completion of the examination. Candidates can check the answer key to measure up their performance and set their expectations accordingly. If any of the applicant has any objection against any of the questions, the applicant can register the complaint to NTA and pay ₹1000 for each question.

Results of CMAT 2019 will be announced on 8th February 2019. To check the results, the candidate can login to the portal using the registration number and password provided at the time of registration. Download the rank card as it will be required at the time of admission. Along with the results, the merit list, rank secured marks obtained in each section and overall marks of the candidates will also be released.

To gain admission into the respective institutions, the applicant have to have secured the minimum required percentile marks. The applicants will also be subject to Personal Inteview (PI) and Group Discussion (GD) as requires by the respective institutions they are applying for.
