GCET 2018 – Exam Date, Eligibility, Application, Pattern, Syllabus
DTE Goa will conduct GCET 2018 for admission to undergraduate engineering courses in state engineering colleges in Goa on May 8 & 9, 2018. Application forms will open tentatively in 1st week of April.
The exam duration of each subject is 120 minutes and each paper will have 75 questions. The total marks is 225, and there is no negative making.
Candidates will be invited for counselling based on their merit rank. The result of GCET 2018 will be declared tentatively in 3rd week of May, 2018. GCET has five participating institutes offering B.Tech programmes and offers around 1300 seats.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria of GOA CET 2018 is as mentioned below. It has to be fulfilled by all the candidates
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian national.NRI candidates can also apply but will be considered only for seats reserved for NRI category. OCI and PIO are also eligible for NRI seats
Age Limit: Minimum age requirement is 17 years on or before 31st December
Educational Qualification for B.Tech Course – Candidates must have passed HSSCE Exam from a recognized institution with minimum 50% for General and 40% for SC/ST/PH and 45% for PH in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for admission to MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS and AHS
Educational qualification for B.Sc. in Nursing – Candidates must have cleared HSSC with 45% for General and 40% for SC/ST in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, subjects
Additionally, the candidate needs to qualify GCET 2018 to be in contention for an engineering seat.
GCET Application Form 2018
The application form of GCET 2018 is likely be available in the third week of March 2018. There are two sets of Forms A and Form B associated with GCET 2018 admission. Candidates need to fill only Form A to sit in the entrance examination. If a candidate qualifies in the entrance examination, only then the candidate has to fill Form B, as it is meant for counselling round. Candidates are required to fill the application form in their own handwriting and follow all the prescribed instructions when filling it.
Payment of Application Fee: The application fee of Rs. 1800 has to be paid in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘Director of Technical Education’ to be payable at Panaji- Goa, India, at scheduled bank.
GCET 2018 Exam Pattern
The GCET exam pattern is mentioned below:
- Type of Question:The question paper will contain objective type questions with multiple optional answers for each question.
- Pattern:The question paper will be asked in OMR pattern.
- of Question & Duration:Each paper will consist of 75 questions to be answered in two hours.
- Marking Scheme:One mark will be given for each correct answer.
- Negative Marking:There is not any provision of negative marking for wrong answers or multiple answers.

Selection Process
The selection will be made through the counselling process; the candidates will be ranked as per their individual score in GCET result 2018 and called for counselling
After the successful processing of counselling, the candidates will be allotted the institutions and seat as per their ranks.
- a) Admissions to Pharma Courses in the State of Goa for the academic year 2018-19 shall be carried out on basis of GCET-2018 (Goa Common Entrance Test), which shall be conducted in various Centres, across Goa State, in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Maths, based on Std. XIIth (Science) syllabus prescribed in these subjects by Goa Board, for March-2018 exam as per following schedule
- b) Admissions to Arch. Course shall be on the basis of scores obtained atNATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), conducted by Council ofArchitecture, and qualifying exam(Std. XIIth /HSSC.)
GCET Syllabus 2018
The syallabus of GCET 2018 will be released by the exam conducting authority and will contain details about the topics and sub-topics that will be covered in the entrance examination. The GCET 2018 syllabus will be available for all three subjects -physics, chemistry, and mathematics. The GCET syllabus 2018 will be platform based on which the candidate will formulate his/her preparation strategy. For instance, the candidate must break down the GCET 2018 syllabus into smaller sections, like difficult, moderate and easy and allot preparation time accordingly.

GCET Participating Institutes 2018
The participating institutes of GCET 2018 are engineering colleges and institutes where candidates who qualify in the entrance examination will get admission into. At the time of counselling candidates will be offered their choices of preferred institutes based on their merit rank in GCET 2018.

GCET Result 2018
The result of GCET 2018 will be published tentatively in May, 2018. To check the result of GCET 2018, the candidates will have to go to the result window and enter their GCET number. The result page will display the role number of candidates and the corresponding marks obtained by the candidate in the three subjects. The merit list of GCET 2018 will be published based on the GCET result 2018 and candidates will be invited for counselling.
