About St.Joseph’s College of Engineering:
St.Joseph’s College of Engineering is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka State, and is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
Established in 2002, the College offers top class education in Engineering, Business Administration and Computer Applications at UG, PG and Research levels. It has well qualified staff, state of the art laboratories and all facilities. Presently about 2300 students are studying in the College.
The College provides for a wide variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities which give a head-start to students, developing their personality and imparting skills of decision-making and leadership. Campus Placement Department assists student’s secure good jobs.
Ten batches have passed out of the College since its inception in 2002. SJEC has recorded 98.27%, 94.32%, 94.59%, 93.23%, 98.08%, 96.98%, 95.43%, 97.47%, 97.36%, and 94.27% passes over the years.
In the current academic year 2016-17, a total of 314 students are placed through Campus Placement Drives as of February 2016. The placement is currently ongoing. The placement status at SJEC is the best among V.T.U institutions of the region.

St.Joseph’s College of Engineering Eligibility – Admission to first semester B.E
The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre University or XII standard or equivalent examinations held preceding the date of entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics and shall have secured not less than Forty Five (45%) percent of the aggregate marks in optional subjects, with English as one of the languages, for admission to Engineering & Technology Courses in St.Joseph’s College of Engineering.
Provided further that the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility shall be Forty percent (40%) of aggregate in optional subjects in case of candidates belonging to the **Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes specified in the relevant Government order for the purpose of reservation in respect of Engineering and Technology Courses.
Note: The relaxation in academic eligibility is extended only to Karnataka candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes.
CET or COMEDK score is needed for seats coming under government or minority quota. A small number of seats are reserved under NRI quota in St.Joseph’s College of Engineering.

Candidates who have passed a three year Diploma in Engineering with minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in the final year are eligible for lateral entry. As part of their course, such candidates will have to study additional subjects as prescribed by the University.

St.Joseph’s College of Engineering Admission Procedure:
St Joseph Engineering College is a Religious Minority Institution and admissions are governed as per religious minority institution status, as stated/declared by Government of Karnataka.
Selection is based on the merit of the candidate in the qualifying examination and Entrance test marks. Selection and admission will be provisional and is subject to the norms prescribed by A.I.C.T.E, V.T.U. and Government of Karnataka.
The candidates who meet the qualification are required to appear for entrance test and interview to be conducted at St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor Mangalore or any other place specified by the college, the exact date of which will be intimated. The candidates shall bear all the expenses in connection with the selection interview in St.Joseph’s College of Engineering.

The Government of Karnataka has made ragging a cognizable offence punishable with imprisonment and holds the Principal responsible for making the College ragging-free.
