Some Major changes Made mentioned below
- SSC CGL 2017 Tier 1 and Tier 2 exam will be conducted in online mode.
- Introduction of a descriptive paper of 100 marks within 60 minutes in pen and paper mode.
- Reduction in the time limit for examination of Tier -I from 75 minutes to 60 minutes.
- Tier II will remain the same.
- No Sectional Cut off.

SSC CGL Tier III Syllabus
The exam syllabus of SSC CGL Tier III isn’t much different from previous above. It will be written examination (offline mode) in which Precis Writing/Essay/Formal Letter/Informal Letter are asked. The time duration for the tier III exam is 60 minutes.

Candidates who clear the Tier 3 Exams are called for the Tier 4 phase. This section is qualifying one. This section aims to judge a candidate’s personality traits, communication skills, and leadership skills, in addition to his/her academic knowledge.
Important Note
- Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the categories of posts.
- Paper-III is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Statistical Investigator Gr.II & Compiler.
- Paper IV is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Assistant Audit Officer.
- Candidates opting for the post of Compiler and/or Statistical Investigator Gr. II and Assistant Audit Officer must ensure that they possess the requisite qualification as mentioned above. Commission reserves the right to take appropriate action against applicants who do not possess the requisite eligibility while opting for the post of Compiler and/or Statistical Investigator Gr.
