About Sri Krishna Institute of Technology
Sri Raghavendra Educational Institutions Society ventured into the realm of Technical education and proudly launched Sri Krishna Institute of Technology (SKIT) in the year 2001 to ensure that education extends beyond the classroom and translates to an experience. Sri Krishna Institute of Technology (SKIT) affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, Karnataka, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
Sri Krishna Institute of Technology campus is situated in the center of the city and near to industrial hub of the country which can be easily reached by public and Institution transport system. This has got a lush green campus with the state of art infrastructure which consists of multiple department blocks equipped with Smart-boards, Wi-Fi Connectivity, e-Learning facility, well equipped laboratories. Library – the repository of knowledge with digital library, Auditorium and an Amphi theatre, Track and field for Sports, Girls and Boys Hostel, Hygienic Cafeteria, Medical centre and ATM. The entire campus is under CCTV surveillance.

Admission and Eligibility Criteria
Common Entrance Test (CET) only for Karnataka Students
The Government of Karnataka conducts common Entrance test for admission into various professional courses. The CET is generally conducted during in the month of May and the notification will appear in all leading newspapers. A merit list will be prepared based on the 50% weighatage for the marks of the qualifying examination and 50% weightage for the CET Marks for declaring the CET rank. Seat Matrix is announced indicating seat available in different college in different branches based on the sanctioned intake.
COMEDK Both For Karnataka And Non-Karnataka Students
The Comedk test for admission into various professional courses will be conducted all over India. The Comedk is generally conducted during in the month of May and the notifications will appear in all leading newspapers. The COMEDK ranking is based on the performance of students in the COMEDK entrance test only. Seat Matrix is annmounced indicating seat aviailable in different college in different branches based on the sanctioned intake.
Management Seats For Both Karnataka And Non-Karnataka Students
The Selection of Management seats students wants to appear any entrance examination i.e., CET, COMEDK, AIEE or institute will conduct the Written test (aptitude) examination in the month of June for allocating seats on Merit basis. A merit list will be prepared based on the 50% weight age for the marks of the qualifying examination and 50% weight age for the Management Marks for declaring the seats.
Academic Eligibility For Admission
The Candidate shall have passed the second year Pre-University or XII standard or Equivalent examination held preceding the entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects:- Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Biology, computer Science and has secured not less that forty five percent (45%) of the aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the language for admission to Engineering & Technology courses. Provided further that the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility shall be forty percent (40%) of aggregate in optional subjects in case of candidates belonging to the ** Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other backwards classes specified in the relevant Government order for the purpose of reservation in respect of Engineering and Technology Course. The relaxation in academic eligibility is extended only to Karnataka candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes.
Fee Structure of Sri Krishna Institute of Technology
1. Time scheduled for payment of fee for the entire program – 15 days after the announcement of the fee.
2. For Karnataka Student CET Fees: Rs. 59,500/-
3. For COMEDK Student Fees: Rs. 1, 25,000.00/-
Facilities Provided by Sri Krishna Institute of Technology
Auditorium
An auditorium to house around 300 audiences with all modern audiovisual equipment is available in the campus. Various technical workshops, seminars and conferences are held here. The hall is also open for students for the cultural festivals. An Amphitheatre, over looking a green and lustrous lawn, is the place for annual day functions.
Library
Sri Krishna Institute of Technology Library and information center is privileged to support Institution’s march towards its vision. The library has a collection of about 25200 books, 48 national Journals, 100 Bound Volumes of Journals and 700 Project Reports.
To provide ease and efficient access to the information, the entire document collection is being computerized using library software package “Libsoft”. The database of books available in the library is being updated on day to day basis. OPAC (Open Public Access Catalogue) is made available to facilitate searching and retrieving of books by any author of any subject quickly and efficiently. All students, faculty members and employees of the institute are entitled to become a member of the library. Each student can borrow 3 books for 15 days. The entire book collection and library members’ cards have been bar coded and the circulation service is fully computerized. A separate reference section is provided with seating capacity of 150 wherein students can refer to most modern books on Engineering and Technology and Journals. Digital Library facility has been provided to the library users to access the e-resources.
Hostels
Hostels are located in calm and serene surroundings with good atmosphere for studies inside campus. Separate hostel buildings and mess for Boys and Girls is provided with homely atmosphere and modern facilities. Both hostels have separate wardens to look after the welfare of the students with care and dedication. Anti-ragging committee and Hostel wardens take care of the students. 24/7 In-house medical facilities are available.
Transportation
Sri Krishna Institute of Technology campus is situated in the center of the city and near to industrial hub of the country which can be easily reached by public and Institution transport system. Besides, the college has many buses to provide pick up and drop services to the students and staff from the campus to the different parts of the city on the approved routes which covers a large part of the city.
Cafeteria
The College has a Cafeteria “The Round Table”, inside the campus in which good homely and hygienic food is available at subsidized rates. The administration of cafeteria is given to experienced, proficient and committed contractors. The canteen is well maintained and remains open on all working days. A committee consisting of staff, students and trustees oversee the functioning of the canteen.
Bank
There is an extension Counter of Corporation Bank for providing banking facilities to the Students and Staff members. The bank functions six days a week. ATM is available in the campus.
Medical Facilities
Sri Krishna Institute of Technology has Tie up with Raghavendra PEOPLE TREE Hospital, T. Dasarahalli, Bangalore which provides free medical facility to all staff and students of the college. Dr. Bhavani is appointed as the Chief Medical Officer for the campus medical center. Free health checkup camps are also conducted regularly for staff and students under Red cross society.
Intranet and Internet
The institute has an Internet connection of 75 Mbps 1:1 dedicated leased line. Entire Campus is WiFi enabled and accessible by staff and students.The campus internet traffic is monitored through a high performance fire wall SOPHOX 230 G model for detection of possible SPAM virus and intrusion.
Sri Krishna Institute of Technology ERP system is implemented under cloud computing. Also M-square Response Interactive System is procured which is compatible and works with most of the video conferencing applications or meeting services including Skype for Business, BlueJeans, BroadSoft, Cisco WebEx, Zoom, Vidyo, Cisco Jabber and Life size Cloud.
All the computer systems are connected to Sun Ray S22 Server having Quad core processor of 3.0 GHz which will cater all the Intranet facilities of the college. All academic progress is monitored through Smart Campus System.
E-Learning
The e-Learning Centre of Sri Krishna Institute of Technology, a VTU learning initiative, for the benefit of Students Community and Faculty Members, etc. The students and faculties can attend the live streaming of lectures on various subjects by eminent professors from various institutions and upgrade their knowledge.
The objectives of e-Learning Centre are:
1. Create web-based e-learning facility.
2. Collect, process and disseminate content developed by the faculty drawn from both academia and industry.
3. Provide interaction/guidance/feedback tools to learners and act as a facilitator between the experts and the students.
4. Supplement the conventional system of training and education and bring uniformity in technical education.
