KS Institute of Technology, KSIT in short, was born on 11th October 1999, out of a commitment to the cause of providing value based technical education. KS Institute Of Technology  Admission Procedure

UG Courses:

Admission to UG courses is through Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) & Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK).

Admission to Management Quota seats is based on merit and rank obtained in any of the Entrance Test : CET, UGET or JEE.

 

PG Courses:

Admission to PG courses is through the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Admission to Management Quota seats is based on merit and rank obtained in the Entrance Test: PGCET or valid GATE SCORE

 

KS Institute Of Technology Eligibility Criteria:

UG Courses:

The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination, second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and should have passed these subjects individually along with English as a compulsory subject.

Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio-Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.

The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State)

 

PG Courses:

A candidate who has passed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years/semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission. (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST, and Category-I candidates and reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates)

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established in the year 1999 offering PG program in Digital Electronics and Communication with an intake of 24 students. The focus of the department is to produce graduates with strong fundamentals in electronics and communication domain. The department is headed by Dr. Sudha P N, who has spent all the years of her career in the field of education.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one among the senior and old branches in the institution with many points of pride to its feather. The Department has highly qualified faculty and well-established laboratories. The teaching faculties in the Department are of high academic caliber. The staff members have many International journal publications to their credit. The Department is recognized as a Research center from VTU and 12 research scholars are carrying out their research in the various fields of Mechanical Engineering. The Department is running a departmental library. The Department has taken the leading role in the IPR activities, IEDC activities, NSS, sports and cultural activities of the institution. The student of the Department Mr. Hitesh Kumar has received 7th Rank in the recent VTU Convocation. The Department has the tradition of securing Ranks in the VTU examinations even in the previous years. The Students team Red Line Racing, have participated in the recently concluded SAE BAJA competition and secured 34th place in the national level and 2nd place in the state. The student team?Prodigy Racers? has achieved the 5th position in the GoKart virtual rounds and are participating in the actual round of SAE GO Kart Competition. The students of the Department have received the overall championship in the institution level sports consecutively for the third time. The Department has established a good interaction with the industries such as M/s TUV Rhineland, M/s Avasarala Technologies Ltd., M/s Sky Catcher Labs, M/s Exergy Heating Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and M/s Indo Qatar International Skills Development Centre. The Department of Mechanical Engineering at KSIT is as old as the Institute itself. Today, the department of mechanical engineering of KSIT attracts and features an extraordinarily rich diversity and quantity of talented individuals, with nearly 450 undergraduates supported by experienced and highly qualified teaching and nonteaching staff. There is a concerted effort to raise the “Aspirational reference point” of the pupils undergoing graduate program in engineering by subjecting them to continuous value addition. Hence The Department has been producing excellent results with distinctions in the university examinations consistently. In addition to classroom teaching-learning processes, students are guided and encouraged to be familiar with emerging technology. The Department of Telecommunication Engineering focuses on producing graduates with strong fundamentals in Telecommunication domain, which was established in the year 2000. The department consists of well qualified and dedicated Teaching and supporting staff. The department focuses on building the fundamentals in the field of Communication like wired and wireless. It has a total intake of 60 students and Telecommunication Engineering graduates have achieved placement of 90% on an average during the last 3 years. The salary packages are up to a maximum of around 5 Lakhs per annum. Companies like Tech Mahindra, IBM, CGI, HP, Amazon, J-Spiders and many more, offer placement opportunities. Students are motivated to participate in research projects in the areas of their interest.

The Department has undertaken many research projects funded by KSCST. The department has a total of 11 teaching faculty members with different specializations, out of which 1 is the Ph.D. holder and 6 are pursuing Ph.D., remaining are postgraduates.
