KNSIT Undergraduate B.E Program

• B.E in Civil Engineering

The Dept. of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2010 during the academic year 2009-2010 with an initial intake of 60.

The Department has well qualified and experienced faculty members. The faculties are also encouraged to participate in the Faculty Development program, Workshops, and conferences conducted by various other academic institutions, Government organizations like ISRO etc, private organizations. Seminars, Guest Lectures, and Expert lectures are periodically conducted for the benefit of the students. Students are encouraged to participate in technical paper contests conducted by various institutions/ organization. The department is endowed with well-equipped labs which meet the standards specified with by AICTE.

• B.E in Computer Science and Engineering

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was started in the year 2001 with an approved intake of 120. The department has a good team of dynamic, highly qualified and dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, who are experienced both in industry and academics and ready for lending their hand in any situations to boost every individual student. Most of the faculty members are having PhDs, moreover many are pursuing their PhDs at various reputed universities and their area of research are Data Mining, Cloud Computing, Wireless Sensor Networks, Neural Networks etc, to name a few. Under the faculty development programs, the staff members are encouraged to periodically attend refresher courses to keep themselves updated on the latest technologies and upgrade their skills. The department has an excellent state of the art infrastructure in both hardware and software resources. The department has well –equipped laboratories with 220+ branded computers in various computer labs such as Computer Programming lab, Data Structures lab, Design, and algorithms lab, Networks Lab, Programming the Web lab, Electronics Circuits & Logic Design lab, Microprocessor lab, etc., There is a dedicated Internet connection with capacity of 50Mbps. Faculty to student ratio is very good, 1:15 with an average teaching experience greater than 10 years. The department is committed to developing the IT leaders of tomorrow. The department is dedicated to education research and overall excellence.

• B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering

The Department of ECE was established in 2001 and was a part of the KNS Institute of Technology Since its inception. The Department offers B.E. program with a student intake of 120. The Department is well equipped with modern laboratories and has well-qualified experienced faculty members. The Department offers in-house projects, technical seminars, workshops, and technical training and arranges regular Industrial visits to ISRO, Jetking, BEL etc.to prepare students to meet the needs of industry. The Department conducts FDP’s in the latest technologies to train the faculties and to encourage them to do research. The Department has professional membership from IETE Student Forum, New Delhi where more than 300 students are its members. The students’ forum is active in conducting various programs like workshops, invited lectures, and exhibitions under the aegis of KNS ISF.

• B.E in Information Science and Engineering

The Department of Information Science & Engineering was started in the year 2001 with an approved intake of 60. The department has a good team of dynamic, highly qualified and dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, who are experienced both in industry and academics and ready for lending their hand in any situations to boost every individual student. Since there are rapid and continuous changes in the economy and industry, it takes time for the academic curriculum to incorporate the latest developments in the economy, technology, and industry requirements.

While ample of job opportunities are available, recruiters find that the students are not up to the mark or do not have latest or requisite skills. Due to this companies are forced to incur huge induction and training expenses or recruit experienced candidates, leading to loss of opportunities for freshers.

Keeping this in mind, KNSIT has instituted an extensive training Programme to upgrade skills of students and help them get good jobs. EEP has three main components:

All students undergo extensive Soft Skills Training to improve their personality, communication skills, grooming, and etiquette etc. This improves their confidence and helps them in effective interaction with others.

• The Placement Team sends an invitation to the Recruiters with relevant details regarding the Final Placements.
• Recruiters convey their intention to participate by submitting a Notification for each profile they wish to hire for.
• The companies have to inform us of the recruitment process followed by them including the types and number of rounds for selection.
• The Placement Team communicates the dates for the campus visit for each recruiter by considering factors like student preference, job profile etc.
• Companies are encouraged to give pre-placement talks before the commencement of the recruitment process. This gives students a chance to know more about the company, work culture, growth opportunities, and learning and advancement opportunity at the organization. They will also get a clear idea of the kind of profile that they would be working on. This would enable the students to make an informed choice and help enhance the effectiveness of the company’s selection process.HR can conduct different rounds of the selection process and inform the names of selected students to the Placement Department, which in turn shall inform the concerned students of the same.
• Final Job Offers would be provided by the companies, which shall be accepted and acknowledged by the students. All the job offers will be channeled through the Placement Department. A Job Offer is considered to be valid only if the Placement Department is in receipt of the written communication of the same. Any form of verbal or telephonic communication will not be considered as job offers.
• List of selected students should be announced on the pre-agreed date. Delay or failure to do so may result in the candidate getting another offer.
• The offers letters for the selected candidate should either be mailed or sent to the Placement Department within 15 days of the final selection.
• In case any company wants the selected student to join them prior to the completion of the academic year / University exams (early joining), the same shall be informed by the company to the Placement Department. The permission for the same is granted on the case to case basis and the College reserves the right to approve or disapprove the same.
• Students will receive information on their mobile phones regarding on campus and off campus placement drives.
