The Government Polytechnic, is started in the year 2008 by Department of Technical Education, Karnataka government. The college started with four courses which includes Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering Government Polytechnic. Initially the college running its classes in some of rented buildings in Government Polytechnic The college shifted to new building in Aug 2012.Government Polytechnic The new building was inaugurated by then higher education minister Sri. C.T Ravi. The Government Polytechnic College is providing good and valuable education for the students. The college started in this remote and forest area with the interest of uplifting the poor and backward area students. The vision of GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC is to be the leading center of learning and innovation in emerging areas of business and management education.
