About GM Institute Of Technology

GM Institute of Technology a Hi-tech engineering institute established in the academic year 2001-02 by Srishyla Educational Trust (R), Bheemasamudra with the vision to provide quality technical and management education to the rural students. The Founder President of the Trust was Late Sri. G. Mallikarjunappa the then Honorable Member of Parliament, Davangere.

He had a strong desire to uplift the education levels of the suburban and rural youth. GMIT is an ISO 9001-2008 certified Institution for providing quality Engineering and Management Education. Sri Shyla Education Trust (R) Bheemasamudra runs over nine Educational Institutions to fulfil the dreams of the visionary founder and statesman Late Sri. G. Mallikarjunappa. The trust is engaged in various Philanthropic activities to develop society

The GMIT is on the National Highway No 4, 265 Km away from Bangalore. The campus is spread over 54 acres of lush green land. It has well planned monolithic buildings with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

 

The Institution is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and is Accredited by NAAC, New Delhi. The institution has AICTE approval. It is one of the leading Engineering and Management Institution in the central part of Karnataka. It has received ‘Gold Rating’ by the AICTE-CII survey in 2018. GM Institute Of Technology Admission

Eligibility

1. To be eligible for admission to the first year of the course the students shall have passed all the subjects of the two years Pre-University examination (Science) conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board / 10+2 years course of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

AND

2. Should have studied with Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects:- Chemistry/Biology / Biotechnology/ Computer Science / Electronics and English as a subject of study.

OR

Any other examinations recognized by the VTU as equivalent thereto.

AND

3. (i) The candidate shall have secured not less than 45% ( 40% for scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward classes) of marks in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the subjects Chemistry/Biology / Biotechnology/ Computer Science / Electronics.
(ii) Candidate should have appeared for the Common Entrance Test conducted by the CET cell / COMED-K.

OR

Candidates should hold 3 years Diploma in appropriate Branch of engineering /Technology by the Board of Technical Examination in Karnataka.
(a) The candidate shall have secured not less than 45% in final year examination in 5th and 6th semesters (40% for candidates belonging to scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward classes) of marks in aggregate.
(b) Has at least one year of professional experience in an appropriate branch of engineering /Technology after passing diploma course as on September for the year of admission.

Note :

1. candidates who have passed from Other Boards have to Compulsorily obtain Clearance Certificate from Association Indian Universities, New Delhi.
2. Eligible Candidates seeking Admission should also obtain the eligibility certificate from the concerned college.

4. Non-Karnataka Students as per Rules of the Government of Karnataka

Candidate seeking admission to BE courses at GMIT should have passed PUC /10+2 / equivalent qualifying examination recognized by VTU and Govt. of Karnataka securing a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST/CAT-I/OBC candidates) in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Electronics / Computer science.
