About Coorg Institute of Technology
Coorg Institute of Technology(CIT) established in 1999, was sponsored by the Kodava Education Society with the primary aim of providing quality technical education to the aspiring students from Kodagu district and other parts of the country. A Governing Council headed by Sri. C.P. Belliappa, an engineer and coffee planter, manages Coorg Institute of Technology. The Governing Council comprises of professionals with extensive experience in the management of educational institutions. It leads to the implementation of comprehensive strategic plans that aims at leveraging the institute’s existing strengths and ensures its rapid progress into a Deemed University. The Governing Council meets periodically to frame policies and programmes for the growth of CIT. Prof. Kavitha P C, Principal, oversees the administration of the college. Coorg Institute of Technology(CIT) is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and recognized by the Government of Karnataka.

Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre-University or XII standard or equivalent examination recognized by the University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Biology, and has secured not less than 45% of the aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the languages.

1. Computer center
Computer Centre: 50 Computers with Internet facility
CIT houses computer centre for the benefit of students and faculty members..
2. Hostel
The colleges have separate hostel facilities for boys & girls, with each of them having different capacities according to the strength of the students in each department. The institutions offer clean, comfortable and safe hostels for all the students in the campus. The rooms, which are on four to a room basis, twin sharing and single occupancy basis are spacious, well–furnished with beds, study tables, cupboards, and even solar water heaters, and all rooms have attached bathrooms. House–keeping facilities are available for the benefit of the students. Hostel wardens have been assigned to each hostel for the security and comfort of the students. Wi-fi is available in the hostel. Additionally, the college is making an effort to augment their hostel capacities periodically to accommodate more students. The facilities provided and the atmosphere at the hostels ensure that the students have the calm and peace of mind, which is essential for them to grow academically..
3. Internet with Wi-Fi
Entire campus is networked with leased lines of 50 Mbps and 20 Mbps two separate lines by BSNL. Nearly 600 computers are Local Area Network connected. There is an exclusive central computing facility with high speed Internet available for students and staffs to carry out their academic activities like project work, presentation of papers for conferences and seminars, downloading the required information and browsing etc.The entire campus is enabled with WiFi facility.
4. Power backup
The college has well maintained power backup system, with DG operation during the course of grid failure.
The campus utilizes zero carbon power, which is produced through 130KW capacity roof top solar power plant
5. Seminar hall
A seminar hall with a minimum of 450 seating capacity,is available in the campus. It is well equipped with audio and visual systems. Events such as meetings and intra department level seminars/symposia, etc are organized here.
6. Auditorium
Auditorium is very well furnished for conducting extra curricular programmes. It is a well spacious and accommodate over 1200 students at a time. and also has sports courts for settle, badminton, basket ball etc
7. Play ground
We have facility for indoor games such as Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, shuttle, badminton and outdoor facilities for football, Hockey, Kabbadi, volleyball, and cricket & basket ball.
8. Transport facilities
CIT College also provides transportation for all its students and has a whole fleet of buses and vans for pickup and drop facility. The various departments have their own fleet of buses and vans for the convenience and safety of their students. This includes many pickup and drop locations in the main areas of Coorg. The scheduled and timely arrival and departures of the buses and vans ensure timely pickup and drop off to and from the college campus. The residential campuses with an enviable ambience are situated in the outskirts of Coorg and we provide shuttle services to and from the city on weekdays and weekends allowing the students convenient access.

9. Canteen
College has a spacious, airy, well furnished and hygienic canteen on campus, not only for physical refreshment but also for student bonding, discussions and even work on assignments and projects. Canteen can accommodate more than 100 students. Coffee bar in the campus provides light refreshments and chats

College has a very good stationary shop on campus.

12. Library
The library is an absolute mine of information, offering best in progressive as well as traditional learning resources. It supports the curriculum and aims to encourage independent study by providing all types of resources. It provides innovative, responsive and effective services to meet the changing needs of the academic community. The major objective is to provide right information to the right users at the right time.
The library has a vast collection of 3759 titles and 25260 volumes that are related to science, engineering, management, general books on personality development, competitive exam books. Books are issued to students on a fortnightly basis. Access to e-journal database such as IEEE i.e IEL online, Springer, Science Direct, Taylor and Francis, ASCE digital library and 14044 e-books from springer and CRC Press is provided apart from 40 national and international print journals.
The library is automated using integrated institution software “Smart Campus” & has digital library facility where, question papers, free e-books, syllabus and faculty publication can be accessed within the campus. The library provides an online catalogue through which students can search the availability of books and reserve the books.
