CA CPT 2018 – Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the exam conducting authority, is now keeping the CA CPT application correction window 1 from November 5- 12, 2018. Candidates can modify their CA CPT application form 2018 in online mode, free of cost. Changes like the medium of an exam, choice of exam center, etc. can be changed in the application correction window- 1. After this, the application correction window- 2 is expected to release in the last week of November 2018. Candidates will have to pay for making changes in their CA CPT 2018 application form via correction window- 2. The admit card of CA CPT 2018 will be tentatively released about 15 days before the date of the exam. ICAI will conduct CA CPT 2018 examination for December session on December 16, 2018 (Sunday), in two sessions- morning from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and the afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. LATEST – ICAI has now opened CA CPT Application Correction Window- 1.

Chartered Accountant – Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is conducted for candidates who wish to pursue a career in Chartered Accountancy. CA CPT 2018 December session under the old scheme will be held on December 16, 2018. Only those candidates who are registered with ICAI for Common Proficiency Course (CPC) of Chartered Accountancy are eligible to give CA CPT exam held in December 2018 session. Important Note: CA CPT exam will NOT be conducted after June 2019 session. CA CPT 2019 June session will be the last session of the CPT exam. It has been decided in lieu of the introduction of a new CA entry level exam, i.e. CA Foundation 2018, under the revised scheme. After June 2019, CA Foundation will become the sole CA entry-level qualification examination. Until this period, both CA CPT and CA Foundation Examinations will be conducted by ICAI.

CA CPT is an entry-level qualification test held twice a year- once in June and once in December under the old scheme. As per the official notification, CA CPT will cease to be conducted beyond the June 2019 session. Candidates who will qualify CPT exam will be enrolled to IPCC (Intermediate Professional Competence Course) which would train them for the next level of Chartered Accountancy course.

CA CPT Eligibility Criteria 2018

Candidates who plan to appear for CA CPT 2018 in December 2018 session exam should register with ICAI in CPC course. Only registered candidates are eligible to apply for CA CPT 2018 December session. Following are the eligibility criteria of CA CPT 2018.

  • Candidates must have passed their 10th and 12th level qualifying examination from a recognised board of education or equivalent examination,
  • Candidates must have registered with ICAI for CPC course before June 30, 2017, to be eligible for appearing in CPT exam.
  • Candidates who have completed bachelor or masters degree in commerce with at least 55% marks are exempted from appearing in CA CPT 2018,
  • Candidates holding bachelor or masters degree in a stream other than commerce must have obtained at least 60% marks in aggregate of all subjects are also exempted from appearing in the entry level test.

CA CPT Application Form 2018

ICAI has opened the application correction window- 1 for candidates to modify the details on their application form of CA CPT 2018. Candidates can change the medium of an exam, choice of exam centre, etc. The last date for changing the application form via correction window- 1 is November 12, 2018. The application correction window- 2 will charge the candidates according to the modifications made by them. ICAI had made the CA CPT 2018 application form available from October 4, 2018 (IST 10:00) till October 25 (IST 23:59). However, late submissions of CA CPT application form 2018 were accepted from October 26 till November 1 (IST 23:59) with late fee of INR 600/-. The amount of application fee of CA CPT 2018 varies according to the place of the exam centre chosen by an aspirant. The aspirants will be able to remit the application fee for CA CPT 2018 application form online using (VISA/Master) Debit Card or Credit Card.

CA CPT Admit Card 2018

Candidates who register and apply for CA CPT December 2018 examination will be issued the admit card of CA CPT 2018 in online mode. The admit card of CA CPT 2018 will likely be released in the first week of December 2018. Candidates will be able to obtain their CA CPT admit card 2018 by logging in their accounts through their registered id and password, through the link given above. CA CPT 2018 admit card will mention details about the candidate including name, roll number, photograph and signature, exam centre, etc. It will also contain other exam related important instructions. Candidates will be required to take a printout of CA CPT admit card 2018 and carry it with them to their allotted exam centre. In case of any discrepancy regarding admit card, candidates are advised to contact ICAI Helpline desk (given at the end of this article).

CA CPT Exam Pattern 2018

CA CPT 2018 will be conducted on December 16 2018, in two shifts, i.e. morning shift from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and evening shift from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. CA CPT exam will comprise of objective type questions of 200 marks. Candidates must note that there is a negative marking of  0.25 or one-fourth for every wrong answer. CA CPT Exam Centres 2018

ICAI will conduct CA CPT 2018 in as many as 201 exam centres across 196 test cities in India and 5 abroad. Candidates could select the exam centre of their choice for appearing in CA CPT 2018 while filling their CA CPT applications. Candidates can change their choice of exam centre for CA CPT 2018 December examination now, on the application correction window- 1, free of cost. The closing date of the application correction window- 1 is November 12, 2018. Candidates are advised to use this window judiciously as the application correction window- 2 which is expected to open in the last week of November 2018 will charge an additional fee.

CA CPT Answer Key 2018

ICAI does not release official answer key for CA CPT 2018. However, careers360 will provide CA CPT 2018 answer keys released by various coaching Institutes. The CA CPT answer key 2018 will be helpful for candidates to cross-verify their responses as marked by them in the examination. Moreover, ICAI also provides candidates with the facility of getting their answer sheet re-evaluated after CA CPT result announcement. CA CPT 2018 answer key will help candidates verify their answer sheets already prior to the declaration of result. Candidates will need to pay some fees if they get their answer sheets revalued.

CA CPT Cutoff 2018

Candidates who appear for CA CPT 2018 will need to score minimum qualifying marks as mentioned by the exam conducting authority in order to proceed to next level of CA course. CA CPT 2018 cutoff mentions the minimum marks a candidate requires in each section and overall in order to be shortlisted for IPCC course. As per the cutoff of CA CPT 2018, candidates will need to obtain 30% marks in each section and overall 50% marks in order to qualify for the CA CPT 2018 exam.

CA CPT Result 2018

ICAI will announce the result of CA CPT 2018 December session exam in the third week of January 2019 tentatively. The result will be declared in online mode. Candidates who appear for CA CPT 2018 December examination will be able to check their result by logging in through their registered account. Moreover, ICAI will also intimate candidates about their qualifying status through registered email id and phone number. Candidates who wish to obtain their CA CPT 2018 result through email and SMS will be able to submit their request for receiving of the result via these modes once the facility becomes available. Candidates will later be able to download their CA CPT result card, rank card, and certificate through ICAI registered account.
