BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE) was Founded in the year 1946 by Late Sri. B. M. Sreenivasaiah a great visionary and philanthropist and nurtured by his illustrious son Late Sri. B. S. Narayan. BMSCE is the first private sector initiative in engineering education in India. BMSCE has completed 72 years of dedicated service in the field of Engineering Education. Started with only 03 undergraduate courses, BMSCE today offers 13 Undergraduate & 16 Postgraduate courses both in conventional and emerging areas. 15 of its Departments are recognized as Research Centers offering Ph.D./M.Sc (Engineering by Research) degrees in Science, Engineering, Architecture, and Management. The College has been effectively practicing outcome-based education.
Location & Area: Located in the heart of Bangalore, the Garden City of India, BMSCE is about 5 KMs from the Central Railway Station. The campus area is 15 Acres with a built-up area of 62,068 Sq.M.
The College has been the most preferred destination not only for students of the state but also from various parts of the Country. The Institution is accredited to AICTE, New Delhi, Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, Karnataka, approved by Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi, BMSCE is an AICTE recognized QIP Centre in Engineering & Technology, BMSCE is the only institution from India adopted by the Melton Foundation, USA. BMSCE IS TEQIP Phase I and Phase II Institute (a world bank project).
BMSCE is accredited with A Grade by NAAC (2013-2018) and Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi (BMSCE has the unique distinction of being one of the first Institution in India identified by National Board of Accreditation for evaluation under Tier-I NBA Accreditation Washington accord)
The College has one of the largest student populations amongst engineering colleges in Karnataka. Currently, about 5000 students are pursuing their higher education. The academic performance of the students has been exceptional. More than 90% of the students secure first class/distinction. The Institution has an excellent Placement and Recruitment Cell. The Placement Centre provides career guidance, pre-placement training in soft skills to enable students to acquainted with the current corporate requirements. More than 100 reputed Core/IT/MNC companies visit the campus every year for recruiting students from various branches. 90% of the eligible students are getting placed every year. The College has a voluminous computerized library and information center, which caters to the needs of students, research scholars, and faculty.
The undergraduate Programmes of the College have been awarded the Autonomous Status by the Government/University from the academic year 2008-09 onwards. BMS College of Engineering- Admission
The admission process for BMS College of Engineering begins in the month of January with the commencement of registrations for MBA and MCA courses. The application process for UG courses begins in the month of February. The application process is offline and the candidates have to take a printout of the application form and submit it before the final date. The application forms are available on the college’s website.
The admissions to UG courses are granted on the basis of COMEDK, the admissions to MBA and MCA are granted on the basis of KMAT, and the admissions to M.Tech. and M.Arch courses are granted on the basis of PGCET. Any relaxation in academic eligibility is extended only to Karnataka candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes.

BMS College of Engineering- UG Admission
BMSCE offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degrees at undergraduate level. The basic eligibility to these courses is having passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination. B.Arch. is a 5-year course and B.Tech./B.E. degrees have a 4-year duration. Candidates can get the application form from the college’s official website. After filling the form, the candidates have to send the form along with the application fee to BMS Educational Trust, Bull Temple Road, Bangalore.

The admissions to B.Tech and B.E. courses are granted on the basis of candidate’s merit in Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET). The entrance test will have 180 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each. The exam will have three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each section will have 60 questions each. The candidates will get 3 hours to complete the exam. There will be no negative marking. However, in the event of a tie in the test score the principle of least negative responses (Number of wrong answers) will be adopted. In addition, if required, other methods may be adapted to break ties. The entrance test is based on the existing syllabus of 10 + 2 / 12th STD / 2nd PUC.
There shall be no Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B. Arch Course. Candidates seeking admission to B. Arch course shall submit a separate application form for counseling as per the notification on COMEDK website (will be made available before counseling).
BMS College of Engineering- PG Admission
BMSCE offers Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Technology (M.Tech.), Master of Computer Application (MCA), and Master of Architecture (M.Arch) at the postgraduate level. The basic eligibility is having a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject. M.Tech, MBA, and M.Arch are 2-year courses, while M.Arch is a 3-year course. Candidates can get the application form from the college’s official website. The admissions to MBA and MCA courses is granted on the basis of candidate’s merit in Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT). The exam will have 120 multiple choice questions which will be divided into three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, and Logical Reasoning. Each section will have 40 questions. The exam will be of 2 hours.
The admissions to M.Tech and M.Arch courses will be granted on the basis of candidate’s merit in Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET). It is an offline exam with 75 multiple choice questions. Out of these, 50 MCQs will have 1 mark each and 25 MCQs will have 2 marks each. There will be no negative marking. The candidates will get 150 minutes to finish the exam.
GATE qualified candidates do not need to appear for PGCET. Their admission will be granted on the basis of merit in GATE.
BMS College of Engineering- Ph.D. Admission
BMS college of Engineering offers various research programs. The admission is based on a Ph.D. entrance exam conducted by the college. The admission is based on the merit in the exam and candidate’s merit in qualifying degree. There is a total of 8 Ph.D. courses offered in Engineering, 1 in management, and 1 in IT course.

Located on a 15-acre land, the campus of BMS College of Engineering has 8 main buildings – the Library, the Classroom Block, the Mechanical & Architecture Block, the IT Block, the Administrative Block, the Science Block, the Postgraduate Block, and a Sports Complex. There are 2 boys and 2 girls hostels within the campus. It also has a single co-ed International hostel to accommodate International Students.

BMS College of Engineering-Placement
The BMS College of Engineering Placements cell is responsible for all aspects regarding placements. A total of 1152 students were placed from both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in 2017. 244 companies had visited the campus and some of the major recruiters were Intel (internship), Robert Bosch (both internship and job), Accenture, TCS, etc.
Compared to 2015 and 2016, BMS College of Engineering Placements witnessed more placements in 2017 for M. Tech candidates. A total of 129 students got placed from various departments.
