About Basaveshwar Engineering College
Basaveshwar Engineering College was started in the year 1963 offering degrees in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. At present it offers degree programs in 10 disciplines and ten post graduate programs including MBA &MCA. The College is a Government Aided institution affiliated to Visveswaraiah Technology University (VTU), Belgaum in Karnataka and approved by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi. 8 Departments of the college have been recognized as Research Centers by VTU. Also 5 departments are recognized as QIP Centers for Ph.D programs by AICTE New Delhi. The college was granted autonomous Status by VTU and UGC in the year 2007. Since then the college has introduced Academic reforms by restructuring the curriculum keeping in view the technological developments and needs of the industry. The college has been selected under TEQIP phase II for scaling up PG and demand driven Research programs. Under this program new research laboratories and facilities have been created for the benefit of PG Students and research scholoars to carry out high quality research work.
College campus is located on beautiful elevated stretch of land over 91 acres on the outskirts of the city and is adjoining to New Bagalkot town. The college has an administrative block, Lecture hall complex, various departmental buildings, etc. An Auditorium and a conference hall with seating capacities of 350 and 100 respectively are on the campus. Human resource in the college comprises of well qualified and committed staff. The greenery and the ambiance of the campus keep the students cheerful and will have enjoyable learning experience.

1. Student Counseling
Student counseling is provided in the campus to improve the quality life of students. In each department, our staff members help students to accomplish their personal, professional and academic goals through counseling.
2. Hostels
The hostels of B.V.V Sangha are managed by a committee set up by the sangha in the name of Student Welfare and Hostel Committee (SWC) consisting of 12 members.
3. Canteen
The college canteen is designed to cater to approximately 1000 students and all staff members. Our canteen has a modern kitchen.
4. Transport
The college provides transportation facility for students. There are sufficient buses, which take care of commutation of our students.
5. Clinical Facility
The campus has clinical facility, which is open to all the students and staff. The clinical facility has Two Qualified Medical Officers and a nursing staff.

7. Sports
The College is encouraging the sports activities amongst the students by providing the infrastructure and coaching facility under the guidance of Shri Ganesh Kori Physical Director, BEC Bagalkot. The BEC Cricket, Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Hockey, Football, Carom and Chess teams have won many trophies, champion ships.
8. Youth Red Cross Committee
The College has Youth Red Cross Committee and organizes many social services.
9. Industry on Campus
Karnataka State Government IT, BT, S &T, Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services (KBITS) has set up Incubation Center at BEC campus to identify new technologies and software tools. Small scale industries are also planned for establishment inside the Campus with an aim to develop skills amongst students to meet industry demands.
10. Internet Facilities
BEC has separate bec Campus LAN team to provide Internet facility throughout the campus. BEC has 20 Mbps Leased Line connectivity from BSNL. BEC is a Wi Fi enabled campus.
