 For architecture undergraduate course, one has to be passed 12th standard from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The candidate has to appear in All India Entrance Exam that is conducted by the Council of India. After successfully passing the exam, one can enroll in the different colleges of the field.

Career in Architecture : Eligibility

For one to be applicable to apply for undergraduate programmes for studying architecture, one must have passed the higher secondary school certificate, i.e. the Class XII examination with science subject such as biology, maths and chemistry. The bachelor’s degree is usually four years long.

If the student is interested in taking his career forward, eligibility for postgraduate programmes will be on the basis of a bachelor’s degree in (B.E/B.Tech) or any other equivalent branches of engineering. The duration for this course is two years.



Career in Architecture : Salary Package

While a beginner can expect to earn anything between Rs. 1 Lakh to 1.5 Lakh per annum, the salary increases drastically with experience. An experienced architect can command up to Rs. 5 Lakh per annum in the current market. Even within the field, the salaries vary widely, with private companies shelling out more than the government sector to hire skilled architects.
The demand for viable housing is only going to increase as time passes. As the supply side struggles to keep up with the burgeoning demand, it is logical to assume that the job prospects and salary of architects would witness further increase.
