Scholarship Examination in India

APTET 2019: Andra Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test will be held in May 2019 by Department of School Education, Government of Andra Pradesh. The examination is held for selecting candidates for teaching positions of classes I to VIIIth in various Andra Pradesh government controlled schools. The APTET 2019 examinations consist of two examinations for selecting candidates from class I to V and class VI to VIII. More than 5 lakh candidates have applied for previous year’s APTET examination. Candidates interested in applying for both the examinations need to do so separately.

Candidates interested in applying for the APTET examination need to following dates in mind. No extensions under any circumstances will be provided for candidates who have missed any of the deadline dates.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in applying for the APTET 2019 examination need to look into the following eligibility criteria in order to see if they are eligible to apply for the examination. The admit card will be given only to those candidates who meet the following eligibility criteria:

For Paper I (Classes I to V):

  • The candidate must have completed their +2 examinations with a minimum of 50%. For candidates belonging to the SC, ST and OBC categories, the candidate should have scored a minimum of 45%.
  • Should have a degree or diploma in teaching (like BEd. etc).
  • There is no restriction on the age of the candidate.

For Paper II (Classes V to VII):

  • The applying candidate should have obtained a minimum of BSc, BA or BCom degree in the respective subject of their applying position.
  • Should have a minimum of 50% overall score on their graduation. A relaxation of 5% is given to the candidates belonging to the SC, ST or OBC categories.
  • Must have an additional degree or diploma in education (like BEd. etc).

How to apply for APTET 2019

Candidates who meet the above-set eligibility criteria and wish to apply for the APTET examination need to take the following procedure in order to successfully apply for the APTET 2019 examination:

  1. Go to the official website of APTET examination.
  2. Before registering for an account, the applicant needs to pay an application fee of ₹500. There are no concessions provided for girl candidates or candidates belonging to any of the reserved categories.
  3. After payment of fees, the applicant will get a journal number which they have to use to login to their respective account.
  4. Enter correct and complete details in the required fields. Only applications with complete details will be provided with admit cards.
  5. The candidate has to upload a scanned copy of their passport size photograph and signature.
  6. After pressing on the declaration button, the applicant will receive a verification code in their contact details. Enter the verification code to confirm the application.
  7. Take a printout of the application form after pressing the SUBMIT button. The printed copy of the application form will be required in the later stages of the examination process.
  8. Press “Request for change” option to change your application before the above-mentioned deadline date.

Exam Pattern

Andra Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test Exam Takers need to be aware of the exam pattern in order to avoid any surprises. Knowledge of the APTET exam pattern can help candidates better prepare for the upcoming examination and have a leg up over the competition. The candidates need to go to the official website in order to download the admit cards. The admit cards will be provided only if the candidate meets the eligibility criteria or has provided complete and correct applications before the deadline date. The candidate needs to go to the official APTET website and login with the details provided during the application process in order to download the admit card. Possession of admit card is necessary for the candidate to gain admission into the examination hall.

Results and Cutoff

The results of APTET examination along with the cutoff will be declared on the first week of July. The candidates can look into their respective scores by logging in to the official portal with the details provided during the application process. Take a printout of the result card to show as a proof at the time of allocation of teaching positions. In order to get a teaching position, the candidate needs to appear for Teachers Recruitment Test (TRT). A combined score of TET and TRT, on 80:20 basis respectively, will be take=n for offering teaching positions to shortlisted candidates.
