AIBE 2019 | Application, Exam Pattern & Other Details

AIBE 2019: All India Bar Examination is held by the Bar Council of India. It is a national level assessment examination held for awarding the certificate of practice for aspiring lawyers. The examination will be held in the month of November and will be conducted in all the scheduled languages of India. The complete details of the examination are provided in the article below. The examination is officially termed as AIBE 2019 XIII (13), and candidates need to look for that term for any announcements from the Bar Council of India.

Important Details of AIBE 2019

The candidates planning on writing the AIBE 2019 examination need to be aware of the following dates while preparing for the examination. No extensions will be provided for any of the deadlines under any circumstances. It is in the best interest of the aspirants to complete the respective tasks immediately after the commencement of the dates. All the dates provided are tentative and are subject to change. Wait for official notification from the Bar Council of India. The important dates are:

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for writing the AIBE 2019 examination, the candidate must satisfy the criteria set by the Bar Council of India. There will be no relaxation in any of the criteria unless specifically mentioned so. Only to those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria, the admit card will be provided. For, SC and ST criteria candidates, no special concessions in any of the eligibility criteria shall be entertained. The eligibility criteria for AIBE 2019 are:

  • Must have a minimum of a bachelors degree from any of recognised law colleges.
  • Must have enrolled in a state council before applying for the examination.
  • There is no restriction with respect to age.
  • Should have graduated from their law degree after 2010.

How to apply for AIBE 2019

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can proceed to take the following steps to successfully apply for the AIBE 2019 examination. Only completed applications provided before the deadline date will be accepted for the examination. It is in the best interest of the candidates to fill up the fields with complete and correct details immediately after the commencement of the examination date.

  1. Go to the official website of AIBE 2019 and click on the registration link.
  2. Register for an account on the official portal with a valid email ID. A registration number and password will be given once the registration process is completed.
  3. Provide all the necessary information in the required fields and click on the save button once the process is completed.
  4. Select 3 choice of examination centres in the order of preference. The first choice will most likely be your examination centre.
  5. Upload all soft copies of all the required documents. The photo identification proof and enrollment certificate should be self-attested.
  6. Provide an application fee of ₹3560 towards AIBE 2019 through any of the online payment methods. The application fees for SC and ST candidates is ₹2560.
  7. Press the SUBMIT button to complete the application process and successfully register for the examination.
  8. Take a printout of the completely filled registration form to use it as a proof for future references.

Examination Pattern

Candidates who are preparing to write the AIBE 2019 examination must be aware of the following exam pattern. It will help the candidate to better prepare for the upcoming examination and avoid any surprises at the last moment. The examination will be conducted in the major cities of all the states in India. The admit card for the examination will be provided after a week of the registration process deadline. Candidates can obtain their respective admit cards from the official portal of the examination. Login to your respective accounts using the registration number and password provided during the registration process and download the admit card from the admit card link. Take a printout of it as it will be required to gain entry into the examination hall.

Results

The answer key will be released immediately after the end of the examination. Candidates can check for the answers and calculate the likely marks they are going to obtain in the examination. The result of the AIBE 2019 examination will likely be released on the third week of January. Candidates can look up for the results in the official website of Bar Council of India. To look up their results, candidates have to log in to their respective accounts using the registration number and password. Only to those candidates who have scored above 40 overall marks, 9 in Paper I and 31 in Paper II, will certificate of practice will be provided. The certificate of Practise is an important document required for any lawyer to practise their law in India.
