The A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences was founded in the year 1985 by the Nitte Education Trust with the objective of making available up-to-date training facilities to produce dental professionals and to help meet the country’s growing healthcare requirements.
The A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences offers Graduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral training facilities. The Institution is a constituent unit of Nitte University and is recognized by the Dental Council of India.It constantly strives to upgrade its capabilities by participating in exchange programs with national and international institutions.
The AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences was set up to convert aspiring students into dental professionals for helping the nation in healthcare requirements. With the changing trends in the eating habits in adults as well as in children, it has become very important to visit the dentists on a regular basis. To fulfill this growing need of talented dentists in the whole country, the institute is striving very hard. Eligibility: Pass in 10+2 with 50% in Physics, Chemistry & Biology and English as one of the languages of study. Qualifying and applying for NEET UG and registration for All India counselling is mandatory.

Duration: 5 yrs (inclusive of 1 year compulsory rotatory internship)
Admission under General category
The admission under the General category will be on the basis of inter-se merit ranking in NEET UG. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will allot seats through the process of centralised counselling
Admission under NRI / Management Category
The admission under NRI / Management category is also based on NEET UG ranking. Foreign nationals are also considered for admission under this quota if they have cleared NEET UG. The counselling for this category will also be conducted by KEA.
The payment of fee shall be in foreign currency or in Indian Rupees from the Non Resident External (N.R.E) account of the parent / sponsor.

- 10th Std. pass certificate for proof of date of birth – Original + 3 attested copies
- 12th Std. equivalent marks card/pass certificate – Original + 3 attested copies
- Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended – Original + 3 attested copies
- Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended – Original only
Eligibility Certificate issued by the Registrar, Nitte (Deemed to be University) - Migration Certificate from the Board of the institution last attended or (For Non Karnataka students)
- Physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner
- Blood group certificate
- Photographs: Recent color photo with white background, of resolution 300-600 dpi & size 35mm X 45 mm (Passport size) & 20mm X 25mm (Stamp size)
- Aadhar card copy of the student
- Employment certificate of the parent / sponsor (For NRI candidates)
- Passport and Residence permit copies of the parent / sponsor (For NRI candidates)
