The student should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC/12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects.
In case of candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes (Category I, 2A,2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established during the inception of the institute in 2001.The department runs undergraduate program with an intake of 180 seats and two post graduate programs with an intake of 24 seats each. The programs are approved by AICTE and affiliated to VTU, Belgaum. The department is focused towards growth and technology trends with well-furnished laboratories.
The Department has highly efficient and qualified faculty with industrial experience.
Two International Conferences, Three National Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and many guest lectures were also conducted by the Department in the recent academic years. Computer Science and Engineering
The Don Bosco Institute of Technology ,department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established in the academic year 2001 with an intake of 60 and further enhanced to 180 seats in BE. The Department offers two M.Tech Programs (CSE and CNE) 24 seats each. The Department has been recognized as a Centre for Research by VTU, for Ph.D. program in Computer Science and Engineering / M.Sc. (Engg). The department has well equipped laboratories with updated software and hardware with an emphasis on practical learning in addition to curriculum.
The Department has a students’ forum called “Tantrakala” which actively conducts various co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The department has well qualified and experienced faculty having extensive expertise and experience in their chosen fields with an average experience of 10 years. Faculty is actively involved in research in core areas of Computer Networks, Cloud Computing, Image Processing, Machine Learning, Data Mining. Faculty members have published papers in reputed conferences and journals.

Information Science and Engineering
Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Department of Information Science and Engineering was established in 2001, with an intake of 60 students. The Department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in 2008, New Delhi for 3 years and Affiliated to (VTU) Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka. The department has quality laboratories, library facility for staff & students and also well trained, and experienced teaching faculty with an average teaching experience of 9 years.
The faculty emphasizes theoretical and practical applications of computation and computer systems to the needs of industry. The faculty members are actively involved in research activities in various areas. The Department has a Forum “INFONIX” encourage in all-round development of the students through various Technical and non-Technical activities conducted throughout the year. The Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) was started in the year 2002. The Department accredited by NBA in 2008 for three years. The Present Intake for UG is 180 and two post graduate programs with an intake of 18 for Design Engineering and 24 for Product Design & Engineering. The programs are approved by AICTE and affiliated to VTU, Belgaum. The Department has R&D centre (VTURC). The Department has well established Labs, highly experienced Faculty Members and Technical staff.
Most of the faculty are with their terminal degrees with relevant research. The Don Bosco Institute of Technology, department of Telecommunication Engineering was started in the year 2009 Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Approved by AICTE, New Delhi, Ministry of HRD, Government of India and Recognized by the Government of Karnataka. M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering was started in the year 2012 with an intake of 24.The M.Tech. programme in Computer Science and Engineering is a Masters programme offered to students who are interested in advanced learning and research in any area of computer science in Don Bosco Institute of Technology.
The programme is flexible enough to allow a student to specialize in any topic of interest by taking elective courses and working on a research project in that area. After completion of the course, the students are fully competent to enter the Global IT – world as well as the fields of Research & Development at prestigious institutions in India and abroad.
Master Of Technology – Design Engineering
M.Tech in Design Engineering was started in the year 2011 with an intake of 18. The Program has 4 Semesters, which focuses on various design subjects like Finite Element Analysis, Theory of Elasticity and Plasticity, Advanced Vibrations, Experimental Stress Analysis, Composite Materials & Technology, Tribology and Bearing Design, and Fracture Mechanics in Don Bosco Institute of Technology.

Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBIT), Bangalore is a technological institution under the aegis of Don Bosco Group of Institutions. The college primarily provides education in technical fields including B.E, M.Tech, and MBA with dual specialization.
The B.E. program has seven specializations, all of which have different intake capacity. The B.E. program has the duration of 4 years. The M.Tech program is offered under 4 specializations with the duration of two years.
The MBA program offered by the DBIT has a dual specialization with the duration of two years. It should be noted that this course is a full-time residential program. Admissions into these programs follow a common pattern.
